LOZ 2-0 FOIDS

Legend of Zod (LOZ) have booked their place in the Lower Final after dismantling Hypergamous Foids (FOIDS) 2-0, dropping just 13 rounds across the series.

With their season on the line, FOIDS were unable to slow down the high-energy Indonesian squad, who dominated from the opening rounds on Summit before closing out the series on Haven. The match was played on FOIDS' pick of Summit and LOZ's Haven, with FOIDS making the surprising decision to ban Lotus despite it being their most-played map.

LOZ run riot on Summit

LOZ entered uncharted territory on Summit, playing the map for the first time this season. kizukii and qwert brought out new looks from their agent pools, with Tejo and Brimstone respectively making appearances.

LOZ wasted no time establishing control. The Indonesian squad opened the map with six consecutive attacking rounds, immediately threatening to run away with the half. kyo played a major role in the early momentum, putting together back-to-back 4Ks as LOZ surged ahead.

FOIDS finally halted the streak with an ace from RBK, cutting the deficit to 6-2. It would prove to be only a temporary reprieve.

From there, LOZ completely took over the server, dropping just one more round for the remainder of the half to enter the break with a commanding 9-3 lead.

The second half offered little resistance. LOZ won the defensive pistol and quickly converted the advantage, cleaning up the remaining rounds to close Summit 13-3.

qwert and kyo led the charge statistically, finishing with 19 and 18 kills respectively. qwert was particularly impressive with his aim, recording a remarkable 61% headshot percentage.

Haven stays LOZ territory

The series moved to Haven, a map that has quickly become LOZ's strongest. They entered the map with a perfect 100% win rate on Haven this season, including win rates of 60% on attack and 64% on defense.

LOZ also made a notable roster adjustment for the map, with newcomer Dashadow subbing in for star duelist kyo, providing Neon utility. kizukii showcased his own flexibility by switching to Jett.

LOZ claimed the opening pistol, but a shaky anti-eco allowed FOIDS to recover and bring the score level at 2-2.

Dorothy then stepped up with an ace to put LOZ back ahead at 3-2, but FOIDS responded immediately. Neighbour delivered a thrifty Sheriff 3K before kizukii followed it up with a 4K, giving FOIDS their first lead of the series.

That lead would not last long.

qwert and Dorothy began taking over the map, combining for 30 kills by halftime as LOZ regained control. The duo's consistency allowed them to take another lead into the second half.

FOIDS managed to stop LOZ's bonus-round momentum and began clawing their way back into the map. Neighbour's 4K helped FOIDS bring the score to 10-8, putting pressure back onto the Indonesian side.

Ezra's Odin then became a major problem for FOIDS, helping LOZ reach match point at 12-10.

With the series hanging in the balance, qwert delivered the final blow. The LOZ star pulled off a 1v2 clutch to close Haven 13-10 and complete the 2-0 sweep.

qwert and Dorothy finished the map with a combined 52 kills, while qwert also recorded eight first kills, repeatedly opening rounds for his team.

LOZ march into the Lower Final

What was expected to be a competitive elimination battle instead became a statement series from LOZ.

With qwert and Dorothy leading the way and the rest of the roster consistently contributing, LOZ look to be hitting their stride at exactly the right time.
